ABOUT ABOUT

Local dance companies Rhythmically Speaking (RS) and Keane Sense of Rhythm (KSR) are thrilled to be working in conjunction to present “Jazz on Tap,” a series of LIVE jazz and tap dance shows happening May 22-23, 2021 at OUTDOOR venue The Shed @ The Lab Brewery in St. Paul! Rhythmically Speaking is presenting The Cohort 20/21, their show rescheduled from August 2020. Keane Sense of Rhythm is presenting Mirror and Fission, featuring works by choreographer Davon Suttles. As if LIVE DANCE isn't enough, there will also be live music, open jams between the 2 and 4pm shows, food trucks and great drinks! Production dates:

Sat 5/22: Rhythmically Speaking @ 2pm | Keane Sense @ 4pm | Rhythmically Speaking @ 7pm

Sun 5/23: Keane Sense @ 2pm | Rhythmically Speaking @ 4pm | Keane Sense @ 7pm

Wanna catch both company's shows? Purchase a pod for either a 2pm or 4pm show on either Saturday or Sunday, then select the appropriate add on to gain discounted access to the other show (2 or 4pm) on the day you are attending! Would streaming the show work better for you? No problem! Select the 'Livestream ticket' option, which will enable you to catch the 2pm RS and 4pm KSR shows on Saturday, May 22nd from your own home.

For pointers on making your ticket purchase smoothly, please visit Rhythmically Speaking and/or Keane Sense of Rhythm's websites :)

Restrictions

Parking: Parking is free in the brewery lot!

Masks: Required at all times except when in your seat/s (and you are encouraged to wear them there, when not eating and drinking, as well). Performers will remove their masks upon entering the stage space to perform, and will put them back on when exiting at the end of each piece. We are opting to perform without masks because we are all vaccinated and the pieces are contactless and sufficiently distanced, and there is much to be gained from seeing the expressions on our faces as we perform these pieces.

Check-In/ Ticketing: To accommodate for distancing upon arrival, you will be able to check in (or purchase your ticket pod if still available) at one of several different touchless stations, which will be located on the South side of The Shed. Be prepared to show your ticket confirmation email, and to make an additional donation at the door (suggested amounts outlined in the 'More Info' sections listed under each 'Ticket Type' when purchasing tickets here on TicketLeap.

Seating: Seating has been split into pods of 1, 2 to 3, 4 and 6 people, all marked off to accommodate for appropriate social distancing. All pods are accessible. For sanitation purposes, we will not be providing chairs, only placement: please bring your own form of seating. While foldable chairs are recommended (it’s a concrete surface), blankets for sitting on the ground are welcomed too! If you purchase/d a “BYOB,” or “Bring Your Own Balcony” pod, we recommend coming in the tallest vehicle available to you - truck, SUV, etc.: pull in backwards, climb into the bed or pop the hatch and you’ve got yourself balcony seating!

Program: Show programs are available online only - here for the Rhythmically Speaking shows and here for the Keane Sense of Rhythm shows.

Food and Drink: Food and beverage trucks will be available on site during and after the show/s, and all vendors will take appropriate Covid safety precautions. Please do not bring your own food or beverages (with the exception of non-alcoholic adult beverages, which will not be for sale on site).

Restrooms: There will be well-maintained porta-potties on site, and The Lab Taproom restrooms may also be available (TBA).

Waiver: You will be asked to agree to a Covid safety waiver as a part of the check-out for this ticket transaction.

Inclement Weather: In the event of severe inclement weather, the decision to cancel will be made on the day of the show and communicated via email. While the option for a refund will be given, we ask that those who are able donate forward the cost of their tickets, as 1) despite cancellation, we will still have incurred all expenses associated with producing the show, and 2) every effort will be made to reschedule the show for later in the summer.
